Yes to all of this, Evelyn. Once, I was walking into a downtown Bruegger's Bagels. I passed a homeless trio on my way in, and acknowledged them/ said hello. They said they were hungry. I was making good $ at the time, and I decided I'd buy them 3 meals. I gave them the meals on the way out & the two men thanked me. The woman chucked her bagged meal at my head & shouted, "You can do better than this, bitch." Ah, so sweet.
