Well-written and so true! I was going to add a zillion things in my comment to echo what you’ve already shared, but you articulated it all so succinctly. Like you, I gave up on the church as a building where I must go & sing worship songs with a rock band & then mingle in a church-operated coffee shop where people speak in a specific vernacular. The Church is the people who follow Jesus, who “pick up their cross(es) daily”, not solely people who follow a certain pastor, sit in a building for two hours each Sunday, & sign up for every church activity. I find my relationship with Jesus is deeper and more genuine as I authentically bring my whole self to Him--doubts and all. It seems that the PR brings many into a cultural faith, but faith in PR & feelings doesn’t last a lifetime. At any rate, this comment has turned into an unintentional rant. Sorry for that😊. Thank you so much for sharing this article.
