This is an awesome idea. Jantastic, even. But I will say that abstaining from the use of parenthesis has actually made me a better writer. In my other writing, there are times where it’s called for & even necessary, but it can also be a lazy crutch. I like the challenge of having to imply “asides” or inner monologues sans their use. And, I’ve certainly stumbled across far more annoying & wonky guidelines than Susan Brearley ‘s. 😉. That said, this piece is great!
