Oh, man. When I saw this headline, I thought it must be satire. Truly appalling. I know that I’m getting old, but I also don’t understand how a 17 year-old with no discernible talent earns a sizable income by randomly posting 30 second videos. Or, how clusters of these teens are then picked up by “management” to live in “influencers' mansions.” I fear the fall back to Earth in five years or less, for many of these kids, will be extremely painful. Thank you for a well-written piece that also proves that even kids sans intellect or talent can become well-paid “celebrities” for a moment.
