Yay for Medium Day! Photo by Daniel Jurin. Pexels.

Picture Coachella, but with less pot smoke, no rich, reality show kids donning hooka shells, no port-a-potties, and the opportunity to interact with and learn from other writers without leaving your living room.

It’s not a beautiful, impossible dream. On August 12, 2023, this dream can become your reality.

I wish I could take credit for the music festival analogy, but all credit belongs to Medium executive and editor extraordinaire, Brittany Jezouit.

Brittany was referring to the smorgasbord appeal of the Medium Day lineup, and the ability to pick and choose which speaker sessions to attend. Keeping with that analogy, think of me as your favorite indy band, performing on the second stage of Writerpalooza.

Thousands may leave after the main show, Medium head honcho Tony Stubblebine’s keynote address. But not you… right?

You really love me and want the hipster street cred of seeing Sarah Paris before she was cool.

Right?

You don’t have to answer that.

So what can you expect from my sessions? Will I vaguely address “stuff and things”? Will I take this opportunity to present my hidden slam poetry and gangsta rap…
