I think it was mostly the lifestyle aspects for me--I wasn't great at "playing the game," & not talented enough to sit it out. I lucked out w/ connections & the high profile internship/ high profile short term gigs, but it wasn't enough to move me forward. I didn't want to be sharing a house with five random roommates at 36. Alas, I definitely didn't want it bad enough 😄
