I know there’s a variety of reasons for this. However, some happened to jump on in the early days, found they could make an entire living off of Medium (much rarer for those who’ve come after), grew ginormous, inflated egos about their writing quality, etc., and are pissed they no longer make “eleventy” billion per month off of regurgitated content. I say let them go, and I’m not worried about those writers. However, I’m bummed to see others go, but their responses seem far more measured & based on the fact that they’ve grown as much as they could here so it’s time to move on. I don’t think Medium is going anywhere anytime soon. As long as there’s change, there will be gripers. And as long as I’m still growing here, I’ll stick around
