I feel like I do this when I visit my home state & its distinctive accent.

When I’m around Americans, I speak with my American accent. When I’m around my relatives or grade school classmates, I speak with my original accent. I don’t think about it — I automatically switch accents, like a chameleon instinctively blending in.
