Excellent advice, and so true! Every time I think about pitching one of my personal essays to the platform editors, though, I chicken out. I do end up housing them in publications, but there’s something so raw and exposed in personal essays, the thought of rejection stings a bit more. And, I never submit personal essays off-platform. Sigh. I need to get over this hump.😄
