Beautiful, Aimee! I am a big eye contact person, but loved how you wonderfully wove your vulnerability through this and helped me completely understand where this fear stems from. Years ago,I had a friend point out that when I don’t like or trust somebody, I don’t make eye contact. I realized he was right. I guess it is a form of self-protection.
